Kayak Trips and Rentals

Are you ready for an experience you will never forget?  We are a company that uses top of the line kayaks for your float. Yeah, we may cost a little more on rentals but most of our kayaks come with adjustable/ raised seats to keep you comfortable all day long.  We can guide you or you can rent kayaks from us and self guide. I would strongly suggest a guided trip if you are unfamiliar with the water you will be floating. We also offer shuttle services. We operate mainly on a 40 mile section of the Staunton and the  middle James area, but we will expand our area depending on conditions and client interest.

Boat fishing Trips

If kayaking is not your thing, we offer boat fishing trips. This will increase the odds of catching more fish, just by the ability to cover more water.  We mainly target striped bass and catfish on the Staunton River and Kerr lake. Occasionally, we travel to the Chowan River in North Carolina. The boat is a 21' Tracker Grizzly with a 115 hp motor. Its size is perfect for the river and lake. It is set up for anchor or drift fishing as well as trolling too.  We can carry up to 6 people (plus guide).

Water Data Reports

Staunton River at Brookneal  (gage height between 5-6' is ideal for kayaking)

James River at Bent Creek  (gage height between 3.5-4.5' is ideal for kayaking)

Though I personally believe kayaking on moving water is a thrilling way to catch fish, I understand that it is not for everyone. It can be physically taxing and the potential of going for a swim increases. So, if you prefer the calmer waters or if river conditions are not suitable, we have alternative options.  Below you will see some of the options that are available.   These options are great for both fishing and paddling.  Just click on the name for links to more information on these options if you're interested.

Overnight or Multiday  Expeditions

Designed for those who want to push the limits, be it just overnight with 2 full days of fishing, or adding more days, we supply all the gear and meals.  So, your job is to just enjoy your time, "off the grid. "  With lots of remote river and an abundance of wildlife, we promise you a true outdoor experience.  Be sure to watch the "Leave No Trace" Principles video below if you are interested in this adventure package.
